Hippie Hollow Park

Hippie Hollow Park lies
in the basin area of Lake Travis in the Hill Country of central Texas,
approximately one-half hour's drive from downtown Austin, The Park features a
steep, rocky shoreline and provides some spectacular views of Lake Travis. This
heavily-used park, the only clothing optional public park in Texas, is popular
for sunbathing and swimming. Hippie Hollow is also the site of Splash Day, a
festive, biannual event celebrating the beginning of spring and the end of
summer, hosted by the Gay and Lesbian community.
Directions
From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take RR 620 south 1.3 miles to
Comanche Trail. Turn right on Comanche Trail and travel 2 miles. Park entrance
is on your left.
Hours of Operation
- Fall (Sept. 10 - Oct. 31) 9:00 am to 7:30 pm
- Winter (Nov. 1 - Feb. 28) 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
- Spring (Mar. 1 - Apr. 30) 9:00 am to 7:30 pm
- Summer (May 1 - Sept. 9) 8:00 am to 9:00 pm
Entrance Fees
- Day Permit -- $8.00, plus $2.00 surcharge (per vehicle)
- Pedestrian / Bicyclist -- $3.00, plus $2.00 surcharge
Annual permits are also available. Annual permit holders must also pay the
$2.00 surcharge.
Seniors and Veterans with more than 60% service related disability may obtain a
Lone Star Pass which provides for free admission and discounts on camping fees.

Special Notes
- Day use only park.
- There are no lifeguards on duty.
- Hippie Hollow Park has a long tradition as the on only clothing-optional
public park in Texas. Entry to the park is restricted to those people
18 years and older.
- Please respect the privacy of other visitors and ask permission before
taking photographs. Remember that nudity is acceptable, lewd behavior
is not.
- Hippie Hollow Park includes habitat for species protected under the
Federal Endangered Species Act, including the Goldern-cheeked Warbler and the
Black-capped Vireo. As a result, certain areas of the park are off-limits to
park visitors.
- Dogs and other pets are not permitted in the park and may not be left in
unattended vehicles.
- Ground fires are prohibited in all day use parks.
- Glass containers and fireworks are prohibited in all
Travis County parks.
