Tom Hughes Park
Tom Hughes Park is located in the basin area of Lake Travis near Mansfield
Dam, in the scenic Hill Country of central Texas. The lower section of the park
consists of steep limestone outcroppings and boulders along the shoreline, while
the upper elevations consist of thick juniper and oak woodlands.
Tom Hughes Park is an excellent place to swim, sunbathe, or
just watch the sun set over Lake Travis. A number of primitive trails
with steep inclines lead down to the water's edge, providing close-up views of
an unusual diversity of Hill Country flora.
Tom Hughes is one of the less heavily visited parks due to its limited
parking and rugged terrain.
